The Gold Camp is Castlemaine is a group formed in 2022 specifically to advocate for a more appropriate plan for Camp Reserve.
Our community cherishes Camp Reserve and perceives that the endorsed Master Plan will permanently erase the topography, treescape and vistas of a highly significant place. The former colonial Government Camp is Castlemaine’s premier historic precinct. It is the last remaining Commissioner’s Camp, and the military parade ground, Camp Reserve, is a main component.
